The salami slicing of our bus services must stop

04 October, 2018

The C2 bus service is now a shorter route

• THE practice of salami slicing our local bus services is going on apace. Last year route C2 was shortened from running from Camden to Victoria to terminating at Oxford Circus.

Recently, and only by chance as I am regular reader of Buses magazine, I discovered that people living, working and enjoying Camden will be losing another two bus routes as from next year – the C2 (Parliament Hill Fields to Oxford Circus) and the 10 (King’s Cross to Hammersmith).

This is a totally unacceptable situation. We need public transport in Camden. Not everyone can afford or wants to travel on the Underground or by Uber. All of these changes are taking place without us people of Camden having our say in this matter.

Apparently it was consultation online, but surely not everyone has got all the machinery and skills to do it online. Who was aware of TfL’s online consultation?

I strongly urge you, the editor of this local, honest paper and all people living, working, loving Camden, to start campaigning against this awful proposals of robbing us from our bus services.
