Tributes to Abdikarim left on the Peckwater estate
A TEENAGER appeared in court this morning charged with the murders of two young men who were stabbed to death within two hours last week.
Isaiah Popoola appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates court on Monday accused of killing 17-year-old Abdikarim Hassan and Sadiq Aadam, 20, on Tuesday night.
The 18-year-old, of Grafton Way, made a brief appearance in court wearing a grey prison-issue tracksuit. He spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
Popoola is also accused of grievous bodily harm and attempted grievous bodily harm against two other young men in Somers Town earlier that evening.
A 17-year-old was stabbed in Aldenham Street at around 8pm. A 24-year-old was allegedly the the victim of an “attempted wounding with intent” at the same time.
Abdikarim was stabbed near his home on the Peckwater estate at around 8:30pm. He died at the junction of Bartholomew Road and Islip Street.
Mr Aadam was stabbed in Malden Road at around 10:15pm. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Popoola is due to appear at the Old Bailey on March 26.
