Super Cooper! Senior champ wants his title back
16 February, 2017 — By Steve Barnett
SUPER senior champion Roy Cooper is just one win away from regaining his crown in the Chalk Farm Pool League after booking his place in the grand final on Monday night.
The 71-year-old Boston Arms potter, who lives in Islington, had won the prestigious title six years in a row before losing to Boston rival Des Murphy in last year’s final.
On Monday the almost unstoppable “Cooperman” of pool toppled Slattery’s Squatters Bob Martin 3-1 in the semi-finals at the King’s Cross Hurricane Rooms.
Now all that stands in the way of Roy getting his hands back on the Seniors Bill O’Conner Trophy is hotshot Jon Walters, who beat John Greenwood 3-0
“I was disappointed to miss out on my seventh successive title last season,” said Roy.
“I’m determined to put on a winning display in June to win back my crown.”
