STALWARTS of British athletics, Lord Coe, Paula Radcliffe and Wendy Sly, along with snooker champion Ronnie O’Sullivan, will be among those flocking to Hampstead Heath on Saturday.
That’s because the Highgate Harriers will be hosting their free athletics showpiece, Night of the 10,000m PBs, at Parliament Hill Fields athletics track.
Entwining fun events, live music, food and top class racing, the event will also feature elite races including Team GB trials for the World Championships, which are being held in London this summer.
Organiser Ben Pochee, a seasoned runner for the Harriers, said: “As part of our club philosophy to make athletics accessible for everyone the entire event is free. All we ask is for spectators to bring a non-athletics friend so we can spread the joy.”
The action starts at 1.30pm, with the final event, the women’s elite race, at 9pm.
