POSTAL workers say they have had to tape off a collection box in Highgate due to a snail infestation.
The red pillar box in Fitzroy Park has been plastered with a notice asking people to find alternatives and apologising for the inconvenience.

“As part of our ongoing activity, it has become necessary to temporarily remove this postbox from service due to over hedging and an infest of snails in the collection box,” users were told.
“It is currently expected that the postbox will come back into service ASAP.”
Alternative postboxes in the area can be found in Highgate High Street and Holly Lodge Gardens.
