A PRIMARY school put on a roaring end-of-year show this week as a final send-off for its Year 6 pupils. Hampstead Parochial Church of England Primary School transported parents and teachers to the plains of Africa on Tuesday and Wednesday evening with their version of The Lion King.

Headteacher Allan McLean said: “The teaching assistants who are artists helped design and paint the backdrops with the help of the children. The parents helped make the costumes, and the music teacher helped the children learn the songs. It’s a community effort and they’ve all really enjoyed it.”
