Fences at an entrance to Primrose Hill

PRIMROSE Hill is to be closed for four nights in a row over the bank holiday weekend, The Royal Parks has confirmed.

The park will be shut overnight on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (May 31) from 10pm and reopening at 6am.

Police have been clearing the park of people at nighttime for weeks after almost a year of residents reporting anti-social behaviour in the area.

Nine-foot-tall fences were erected at the entrances of the park last week in an effort to combat the issues which are said to persist.

The New Journal understands the gates are a “temporary measure”.

A spokesperson for the Parks said they do not know how long the fences will be in place but that they will be keeping the situation “under review”, adding: “We are continuing to support the police in trying to break the current pattern of anti-social behaviour on Primrose Hill.”
