SNIFFER dogs were called to an estate in Camden Town after residents filmed a suspected drug dealer brandishing a gun.
Police were called to the Clarence Way estate on Tuesday evening to reports that a “firearm had been discharged” at around 6.30pm.
Officers raced to the scene to investigate and it was later established to have been an air pistol, according to the Met’s firearms experts. It is believed to have been part of a growing problem of teenage drug dealers who have set up shop in the estate and surrounding streets after being pushed out of other parts of Camden.
Officers from Camden Town safer neighbourhood team have been carrying out additional patrols in the area since the incident. Following a sweep of the estate, with the assistance of police dog Luna, they found a stash of class-A drugs.
