Object the closure of a vital path in N7

03 July, 2020

• I WANTED to flag the underhand plans by Islington apparently to sneak in the closure of a vital public pathway on Pollard Close N7, during the coronavirus crisis when they apparently think no one will notice.

This is a vital link to the tube station and Holloway Road for hundreds of households on Biddestone Road, Widdenham Road, Quemerford Road and Stock Orchard Crescent.

The only alternative is to walk through the small park at the end of Biddestone Road meaning that during winter months residents will have no through way after 4pm.

The pathway is used by a lot of disabled and elderly residents who would struggle to walk all the way round.

It provides a wheelchair- and buggy-friendly ramp and pathway and I’m not clear why the council feel it is in local interest to restrict access to residents.

The pathway has been there for many years and provides vital access to those needing to catch the tube and access local shops and businesses.

These plans are highlighted in a very small notice stuck to a lamp-post and in the current climate people may not know this is happening until it is too late.

People can send objections to:

Biddestone Road, N7
