Murder investigation launched after man dies in Kentish Town stabbing

MURDER squad detectives have tonight (Monday) opened an investigation after a man died from stab wounds in Kentish Town.

Police were called to Highgate Road at 7.40pm. The victim, 30, who is understood to live in Camden, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men have been arrested.

A police forensic tent has been erected on a balcony walkway at Denyer House.

All routes to the estate have been taped off – including College Lane.

A police statement said: “Officers attended alongside London Ambulance Service and found a man suffering from stab wounds. Despite the best efforts of paramedics the man died at the scene.

“The man’s next of kin have been informed. Two men have been arrested in connection with this incident. Officers remain in the area as enquiries continue.”

Camden Council leader Councillor Georgia Gould said: “This is heartbreaking news. My thoughts are with his loved ones & all impacted by this violence. There will be police and council officers in the area over the coming days. If you saw anything please report it to the police by calling 101.”

Holborn and St Pancras MP Sir Keir Starmer has also urged people to call 101 if they have any information.
