A CHARITY which searches for missing people has thanked a Camden Town barber for donating his Christmas collection to their cause.

Ossie Mehmet, who runs Ossie’s in Parkway, had dazzled passers-by with a lavish display during the festive period.

They donated their change as they stopped for selfies with the mannequin Santa Claus in Ossie’s window. The money has been passed on to Missing People through one of Mr Mehmet’s regular customers, Sir Trevor McDonald, one of the charity’s patrons.

“We just wanted to make people smile as they walk past, and it’s also raised some money to help people searching for someone they love,” explained Ossie. This week, the charity wrote to the hairdresser and thanked him for his efforts.

Chief executive Jo Youle said donations and fundraisers were a “lifeline” for people reliant on their work.
