Medal-winning swimmers target the Nationals

After outstanding performances at the Olympic Park and the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club youngsters look ahead to the National Championships

YOUNGSTERS from Camden Swiss Cottage Swimming Club (above) will be looking to make a big splash at the National Championships in Sheffield this August.

The team were in fine form last time out at the London Swimming Regional Youth and Age Group Championships, held over three weekends in May at the London Aquatics Centre in Olympic Park and the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

The top medallist for the meet was Alex Borisov, who claimed four golds, winning the 200m breaststroke, the 200m butterfly and the 200m and 400m individual medley.

The talented 16-year-old also added a silver medal to his collection in the 100m breaststroke.

Club-mate Ella McEver, 12, claimed a clean sweep in her breaststroke events taking golds in the 50m, 100m and 200m events – winning the latter competition by some seven seconds.

She also added a silver in the 400m individual medley and a bronze in the 200m butterfly.

Ally Larsen, 17, showed her all-round versatility to take gold in the 200m and 400m individual medley, while adding a silver in the 100m butterfly and a bronze in the 50m butterfly.

Jackson Olin, 15, powered to wins in the 100m butterfly and the 200m backstroke, as well as scooping a silver medal in the 100m backstroke.

James Slade, 20, also added a gold to Camden’s mighty medal haul with a victory in the 200m individual medley.
