A 23-year-old man was shot in the early hours of Thursday morning in Camden Town.

An investigation was launched after the victim attended a north London hospital at about 12.12am.

The man had gunshot wounds to his chest but the injuries are said not to be life-threatening or changing.

The shooting is believed to have taken place in Castlehaven Community Park on Castlehaven Road.

The victim was apparently with a group of friends when he was shot by an unknown assailant.

He then ran into the road and flagged down a passing motorist, who took him to hospital.

Trident detectives from the Met’s specialist Crime Command are now making enquiries.

Detectives are trying to trace the driver who is a potential witness.

Following the incident, police officers erected a police cordon around the park while detectives, uniformed officers and forensic investigators combed the scene.

There have been no arrests so far.
