Licensers to rule on cheese restaurant’s booze bid

The Cheese Bar is coming to Camden Town next month

27 February, 2017 — By Geoffrey Sawyer

A NEW restaurant dedicated to cheese wants an alcohol licence, with its owners insisting everything will brie okay if it is granted.

The Cheese Bar has asked the Town Hall for permission to sell alcohol between 10am and 10pm at the new venue in the Horse Hospital in the Stables Market, Camden Town, when it opens next month.

Its managers spent three years selling cheese toasties out of a converted ice-cream van. Customers will choose between grilled sandwich choices that include Rosary goats cheese and Quesoi Chihuahua and Cheddar.

Licensing chiefs have been told the number of people inside the restaurant will be capped at 36 inside and 14 outside, and that alcoholic drinks will only be served to customers seated at tables.
