Labs announces launch of new London flagship property

21 March, 2019

Today sophisticated workspace provider LABS officially launches its London flagship property, LABS House. LABS is backed by a property portfolio of two million sq ft across London.

LABS House will add 1,500 members, with the goal of doubling the size of the 2,600 strong LABS Collective by the end of 2019. The property, located in the heart of Bloomsbury, is already at 80% capacity showing continued demand for collaborative workspaces. Dotan Weiner, Chief Operating Officer at LABS, says, “We understand that the way of work is changing. LABS workspaces are designed to help businesses to deliver results and are housed in some of London’s best properties. LABS House is the embodiment of our mission to redefine what it means to work and collaborate.”

Today LABS, the sophisticated workspace provider, officially launches its flagship property LABS House. LABS House is the latest addition to a portfolio of properties that offer stellar workspaces in thriving areas for work and recreation. The nine storey building covers 96,100 sq ft, boasting an events space, communal areas, full-service dining, coworking and dedicated offices.

The company is building sophisticated, stylish, technology-driven workspaces for startups all the way through to established businesses. From the rich publishing heritage of iconic Holborn locations to the heart of the world-famous Camden Market, LABS offers companies best-in-class facilities, connectivity and some of the most exciting neighborhoods in London at their doorstep.

LABS now operates six properties across the Borough of Camden, with a 7th space in Holborn set to transition to LABS management this year and an 8th major Holborn development on the way. LABS will also occupy 60,000 sq ft of the brand new mixed-scheme venture at Hawley Wharf Camden set to launch later in 2019.

Chantal Robinson, Operations Director at LABS, says, “Our spaces are unrivalled in London and are designed to help businesses to deliver and individuals to grow. In a climate where companies are constantly trying to engage their workforces, and stress is at an all time high, we provide our members with the tools to engineer productivity, encourage collaboration and nurture talent, whether they are a small team or an established business.”

LABS not only operates these exciting properties – it owns all of them. This gives the company both the flexibility to curate truly unique workspaces and to expand and shrink dedicated areas according to the needs of its members. Moreover, this is a business model that puts LABS in a unique position when it comes weathering to any economic downturns. The majority of the coworking sector, including major players, operate a lease-based model, which relies on continued demand for workspaces.

Dotan Weiner, LABS COO, says, “As a business, LABS has the stability of a £3 billion property portfolio behind it and impressive proprietary tech platform with which to operate its workspaces. With the launch of LABS House we are targeting major growth, with the goal of doubling our membership by the end of 2019.”

The Borough of Camden is an area undergoing an exciting transformation, with an increasing demand for workspaces. The newly opened LABS House is already at 80% capacity.  Across six LABS properties in Camden there are 160 companies, including a Slater & Gordon team, Half Hitch Gin, fintech brand Curve and new food delivery app Camden Eats.

LABS members are not only able to utilise the flexible office spaces, but are also part of the LABS Collective, a community of businesses who can share ideas, network and learn together. Providing a creative environment is one thing, but no one is owning the community space for growing businesses, or providing and providing valuable business and life skills no matter what stage members are at. The programme includes TED-style talks, networking events and wellbeing programmes.

Chantal Robinson, Operations Director at LABS says, “We understand that it’s people that make businesses grow, and that they are always more than the sum of their parts. Collaboration is what sparks ideas,  maintains clarity and delivers success. The LABS Collective is built on this principle, it’s a tech-enabled community built for growth.”
