It’s a chance to rise and shine!
Roundhouse Rising festival set to celebrate new talent and more established musicians
08 February, 2018 — By Róisín Gadelrab
Hip-hop artist AWATE is on the line-up for this year’s Roundhouse Rising
IT’S hard to believe that Roundhouse Rising is in its eighth year. The festival, which celebrates breakthrough new talent and more established musicians, while giving valuable insight into the industry, remains as fresh as its debut, attracting exciting headliners and promising support acts.
Ever expanding, this year’s event has grown to encompass 10 events across 10 days, taking place at the Roundhouse between February 10 and March 4. Tickets are modestly priced and so give an opportunity to see up-and-coming musicians and producers in a stunning venue before they fly.
This year’s line-up includes Lil Simz, Blair Dunlop, IAMNOBODI and Awate.
The event ends with a massive Lil Simz takeover, Welcome to Wonderland: The Experience, a conceptual all-day event put together by the pioneering rapper and performer. Little Simz unites her favourite new artists, including rising star Cleo Sol, DJ Miller, and Ezra Collective, the five-piece collective fusing afrobeats, hip-hop and jazz.
Known for his soulful arrangements and grooving basslines, IAMNOBODI, NYC rapper Junglepussy teenage MC “Lioness”, south London soul singer Tawiah and Van Jess also join.
The line-up is topped off with DJ and Producer OTG, creator McKay Felt and Corey Wash. There will also be discussions, exhibitions, food and more throughout the day. There is so much to cover that we’ve done our best to give a flavour of each event below:
