Is Starmer’s face his fortune?

Sir Keir Starmer
IN this age of celebrity culture it’s not what you say on TV or social media but how you look when you say it. If your face is right, the viewer will warm to you.
I thought of this because as the contest for the Labour leadership gets under way I hear more and more that Labour members – especially “young” ones – are plumping for Sir Keir Starmer. He has the right look of authority, that prime ministerial look that attracts the voter, they say.
I wasn’t surprised that he swept the board at the packed meeting of St Pancras members on Monday. Labour Party meetings are big affairs nowadays as national membership touches 600,000.
I gather that nearly 1,000 members are expected to attend the leadership contest on Saturday at the House of the Rock venue in Tufnell Park. I also hear that a lot of new young members of the Islington Labour Party are going to vote for Starmer.
He looks the part.
