‘Hit and run’ victim still in hospital one month on

Police investigate collision on December 4

07 January, 2020 — By Samantha Booth

A MAN injured in an alleged hit-and-run in Camden Town is still in hospital a month after the incident.

Emergency services were called to Camden Road outside the underground station just after 10pm on December 4 after a car crashed into a pedestrian. The man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital and was initially in a critical condition.

The Met Police said this week he remains in hospital where his condition is stable and no longer life-threatening.

The driver of the car failed to stop at the scene, however the Met said the 43-year-old attended a north London police station the following day.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and driving whilst over the prescribed limit. He was interviewed and released under investigation.

The vehicle believed to be involved in the incident, was found around a mile from the collision site and seized by officers.
