Helicopter medics land in park after collision in Camden Town

Collision involving pedestrian and moped brings traffic to standstill

20 July, 2017 — By William McLennan

Air ambulance medics gave emergency treatment to a woman in Camden Town this evening after a collision with a moped.

The female pedestrian was treated at the scene of the collision in Camden Road, before being taken to hospital. The air ambulance helicopter landed in St Martin’s Gardens shortly after 7pm.

Witnesses said the woman was crossing the road, about fifteen metres in front of the pedestrian crossing, when the lights turned green. The rider of the moped stopped at the scene.

One witness said: “The lights had just changed. Then as she looked to her right, the moped hit her and she just flipped up in the air and hit the ground.”
