Head-to-head: Who will take pool singles title?
17 November, 2017 — By Steve Barnett
KING’S Cross Hurricane Nick Phillips, left, and Boston Rimmer Des Murphy, right, will go head-to-head in a battle to pot the decisive black when they meet in the final 32 of the Chalk Farm Pool League’s Singles Championships in January.
The premier potters both won their opening matches in the competition, which saw more than 140 players from the league take to the table on Monday night at the King’s Cross Hurricane Room and Cousins Snooker and Pool Club in Holloway.
The best of three encounters also saw defending champion Chris Heim, who plays for the Sir Robert Peel, scrape through following a difficult opening test against The Dolphin’s Neil Hegarty.
