Have your say on the clutter of estate agents’ boards
31 October, 2019
• FULL credit is due to Camden Council, and Cllr Danny Beales in particular, for taking action to prevent the proliferation of unsightly estate agents’ boards.
Whereas some estate agents behave responsibly by resisting the temptation to erect free advertising on homes across our area, others leave them in place long after the properties have been sold. With all properties now being sold via the internet, there is no justification for this visual vandalism.
With much of Camden now being afforded the protection of a conservation area, it makes sense for the whole borough to be included in the proposed direction which will remove the rights granted by current planning regulations to display such boards without the need for advertisement consent.
I call upon anyone who hates the visual clutter caused by estate agents’ boards and cares about the appearance of the borough to give their support to the council’s proposal by writing to Laura Mansell at the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government by November 14: Laura.Mansell@communities.gov.uk.
