FORMER Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey said he hoped a new exhibition at the JW3 centre would lead to “deeper collaboration and deeper friendship” between the Christian and Jewish faiths on Monday evening.
He was at the centre in West Hampstead for the launch of the People, Book, Land exhibition, charting an overview of Jewish life in the Middle East from biblical times.
It was authored by the late Professor Robert Wistrich, of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and produced by The Simon Wiesenthal Centre, whose director of international relations said at the launch: “We hope that these panels will remind us of the Judeo-Christian heritage which has perhaps been forgotten.”
The exhibition is free, and in the reception of the JW3 Centre in Finchley Road.
