• THERESA Mabey and Jeremy Corvid (A question of growth, January 4) should realise that governments have to balance economic prosperity with the protection of individuals’ rights to a peaceful life, free from unnecessary uncertainty and upheaval, in the same way that individuals seek to maintain a work-life balance.
