Eric’s death is a huge loss to journalism

‘Eric Gordon’s passing is a huge loss to independent journalism in London’
• MY sympathies are with the family, friends and everyone who worked with and knew Eric Gordon, the founding editor of the Camden New Journal, who passed away this week.
His passing is a huge loss to independent journalism in London – as Eric built a newspaper empire not just covering every inch of Camden but also Islington and City of Westminster.
The papers are an integral part of London’s independent news service and long may that tradition continue with these papers – Camden New Journal, Islington Tribune and Westminster Extra. These papers are his legacy and an integral part of London’s identity.
I particularly enjoyed talking to him about his specialist subject China. He gave many insights that certainly would be very useful in these difficult times as the nature of our relationship with China has changed dramatically.
May he rest in peace.
