TWO best friends are launching London’s first “pay-as-you-go” office with an on-site creche to help parents return to work while caring for their babies.

Charlie Rosier and Fabienne O’Neill were given the go-ahead by Islington Council this week to begin developing their co-working space Cuckooz Nest, in Ray Street.

Parents will be able to book a slot at the office either over the phone or by using a mobile phone app 24 hours in advance, then take their child to the creche while they work in the shared office.

Charlie, a mum-of-one and business owner, struggled when she needed to go back to work six weeks after having her daughter Orla last year.

The 34-year-old, who lives in St Peter’s Street with her husband Michael, said: “It was only then I realised the costs of childcare and the few options available at that age. You realise how many parents are being kept out of work because of the cost of childcare, in London in particular.”

The pair hope this option will offer that flexibility, with an interconnecting door between the workspace and creche.
