Come & Sing: Dvořák and Bruckner
06 April, 2017 — By Sebastian Taylor
Vocal coach Mary King
There are opportunities to stretch your vocal chords in “Come and Sing” workshops in coming days – and later this month.
Sections of Dvořák’s epic Requiem are being explored this evening (April 7) at City of London School for Girls, Barbican. Leading the workshop is celebrated vocal coach Mary King and providing support are the crack BBC Singers.
On Sunday (April 9), you can spend the day getting to know Bruckner’s Te Deum, Locus iste and Ave Maria at LSO St Luke’s in Old Street. Leading this workshop is LSO choral director Simon Halsey.
Further ahead on, Friday April 23, Mary King is leading another lively and informative Come and Sing workshop in aspects of John Adams’ contemporary opera Dr Atomic at City of London School for Girls.
Workshops are suitable for people with some sight-reading abilities.
