Christmas tree effort raised £13,716, many thanks

11 January, 2018

• PLEASE pass on a big “thank you” from the Camden Society’s Mill Lane Garden Centre to your readers for the fantastic support we had from the local community who bought our Christmas trees in large numbers.

We sold 627 altogether and our biggest seller was the Nordman Fir at 464 sales. We do hope the trees that went to local homes helped to make the holiday season a good one. Buyers have given a boost to a local good cause into the bargain.

We raised £13,716.18 which we will put back into supporting people with a learning disability to build a career and plan for a great future. Added to that is wonderful support from the West Hampstead community that prompted the generous £1,000 donation from commercial Christmas tree company Pines and Needles which we will put towards making a shop area at Mill Lane.

Finally please recycle your tree responsibility by taking it to one of Camden Council’s Christmas tree recycling points. Don’t forget either that you can get your plants at Mill Lane all year round, especially spring and summer.
