Blanche was a dogged and hard-working organiser and fund-raiser

• I WAS sad to learn of the death of Blanche Mundlak (New Journal, March 9).
She was a real character, forthright in her views, and classical music was both her love and her business.
She was also a keen community and political activist, well known in Somers Town and beyond.
Blanche was also a great supporter of Age UK Camden.
Utilising her friendship with Ann Widdecombe and her local connections, Blanche organised a fund-raising dinner at the Foundling Museum in 2008 on a Sunday afternoon, which raised much-needed funds and good publicity for Age UK Camden.
The event was supported by both Conservative (Andrew Marshall, Don Williams, Martin Davies) and Labour (Roger Robinson) councillors, who enjoyed Ms Widdecombe’s colourful parliamentary stories, food and drink in beautiful surroundings, and dug deep for charity.
She was a determined, hard-working, dogged organiser and you said no to Blanche at your peril!
