Bingo for Norma! Wembley woman wins £20,000 at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood

17 September, 2017

Lucky 73 year old Norma Raymond is celebrating after winning £20,000 at the largest bingo club in Europe, Beacon Bingo Cricklewood.

Jamaica-born Norma, who plays bingo at the club almost every night, scooped the big cash prize after entering a free draw; entries for which were first invited back in early August. Having won she was given the choice of £20,000 cash or a brand-new BMW 3 Series.

Norma commented: “I’m over the moon! I swear my heart stopped when I realised I had won! When I first left the house I forgot my draw tickets at home and wasn’t going to go back for them, but I’m so glad I did. Thanks to my Beacon Bingo win, I can treat my husband to a nice holiday and give my grandchildren a bit of money.”

“My goddaughter called my husband in Jamaica when I had won”, continued Norma. “He advised I take the money. We always make decisions together, we’ve been married for over 40 years and it’s worked so far!”

Steve Lightfoot, general manager of the 2,200-capacity venue, said: “We are delighted for Norma. She is a lovely lady, well known and liked by everyone in the club and so deserving of this prize. It’s great to see a regular customer pick up such a big prize!”
