Arsenal’s Miedema hits another hat-trick

Dutch striker hits her fourth hat-trick of the season as Gunners beat Bristol City Women

VIVIANNE Miedema hit her fourth hat-trick of the season to ensure the Women’s Super League title race remains firmly in Arsenal’s own hands.

Miedema’s treble, along with a strike from Katie McCabe, saw the Gunners beat Bristol City Women 4-0 last Thursday at Meadow Park, a result that leaves them two points behind leaders Manchester City but with two games in hand.

Miedema has now scored 28 goals in all competitions. She tops the league’s scoring stakes with 19, one ahead of City’s Nikita Parris. But the Dutch striker says the only thing she cares about is winning the title.

“To be honest I am not really that bothered about being the top goalscorer, I just want to win the league with Arsenal. We know that we need to win every single game from now on to do that,” she said.
