OSCAR-winning actor Eddie Redmayne has been spotted filming a new blockbuster movie in Bloomsbury, writes Samantha Booth.

Duke’s Road and Woburn Walk were transformed into a 19th- century backdrop for forthcoming adventure film The Aeronauts.

Horses and carriages were brought in for the night shoot on Monday as well as dozens of extras in period costumes.

Redmayne stars as aeronaut and astronomer James Glaisher alongside Felicity Jones, who plays pilot Amelia Wren.

The film from Jack Thorne, who wrote the West End play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, follows the pair as they fight for survival while attempting discoveries in a hot-air balloon in 1862.

The actors previously starred alongside each other in The Theory of Everything, a movie about physicist Stephen Hawking’s life.

The streets have been a popular setting for movies, appearing as 1950s London in last year’s Christopher Robin starring Ewan McGregor.
